Rise is a gentle portable lamp that lights up when lifted by hand. Hung by a soft felt loop, it responds to your touch as it gently brightens while rising, casting a warm glow that reflects softly off the ceramic surface. When placed back down, the light quietly fades. Rise turns the simple act of lifting into a calming ritual of illumination.

The final design is settled on an organic, asymmetrical rounded shape, adding detail to the simplicity of the design.
We turn on a light with a switch, a universal motion done without thought. Everything, from lamps to appliances, responds to the same tap or click. This flattens our relationship with lighting, carrying no emotion, texture, or sense of connection, and ultimately diminishing the quality of everyday living.
