Camera Acesssory

2018

CROX is a flexible camera accessory featuring three filming modes, aiming not just to use only one device to satisfy all kinds of shot movements, but more so providing users a portal to their creativity.

Multi-function

In cable mode, users simply use a rope as a track, allowing CROX to run along the rope in high speed , capturing fast-moving subjects.

CABLE MODE

In car mode, CROX can move back and forth on any plane with low speed, following a low-speed subject or static subject.

CAR MODE

In arc mode, CROX can orbit around a subject to get a full 365 degree shot. Users can bend the angle of the arms to adjust the radius of the orbit.

Background & scope

THE INCREDIBLE POTENTIAL OF A CABLE CAM

Goal

When we first saw a cable camera setup, we were blown away by its agility and speed under certain circumstances, and subsequently the potential possibilities to create varieties of incredible shots.

But as amateur videographers, although aware of the potential convenience, we don't have the budget and space to justify a purchase of such a heavy setup.

Combining 2+ types
of film shots

Film shots are essential to storytelling. Angles, transitions and cuts express emotion, ideas and movement. Our ideation aims to combine 2+ types of film shots to satisfy more scenarios.
